On a radiant Tuesday 13 June, the 2023 Polteq Conference took place, a day full of meetings, inspiration and knowledge sharing. This year’s theme, ‘Simplicity in Complexity’, highlighted the challenges and nuances of software testing and emphasised the importance of simplicity for an optimal user experience.
The Polteq Conference is not only an enjoyable day for colleagues to catch up, but also a platform where we challenge each other and share our distinctive knowledge and skills. It is a tradition that makes Polteq unique and contributes to the development of our field.
With an impressive keynote presentation by former Olympic swimmer Benno Kuipers, we were taken through his personal successes and disappointments as an elite athlete. Then, participants could choose from eight inspiring presentations by Polteq colleagues and participate in four engaging workshops.
This conference gave us the opportunity to make choices, both in our careers and during the event itself. We had to decide which tracks and workshops we wanted to attend, knowing that each choice brought unique experiences and insights. This emphasised the importance of collaboration and sharing knowledge within our network.
The day ended with an enjoyable barbecue, where there was plenty of room for informal conversations and strengthening mutual ties. We look back with satisfaction on a very successful conference, where we not only promoted our professional growth, but also experienced the social aspect of our field.
The 2023 Polteq Conference once again showed us that simplicity in complexity is central to our work. By continuing to challenge each other, continue to learn and support each other, we can make our contribution to software quality and realise the ultimate user experience.
