ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE)

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer certification belongs to the ‘specialist’ stream of the ISTQB® certifications. Modules in this specialist stream further explore specific test topics. The content of this three-day training is presented in module form below.

Business Outcomes

Advanced Level testers who have passed the ‘ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer’ module exam should be able to accomplish the following Business Objectives:

• Contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process;
• Evaluate tools and technology for automation best fit to each project and organization;
• Create an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture (TAA);
• Design and develop (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet the business needs;
• Enable the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach;
• Create automated test reporting and metrics collection;
• Manage and optimize testing assets to facilitate maintainability and address evolving (test) systems.

Who should attend this training

The ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer qualification is aimed at people who have already achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testingand wish to develop further their expertise in test automation.

To get the Advanced Level certification, candidates must hold the Foundation Certificate and have sufficient practical experience.

Exam

At the end of the training, participants will receive a voucher that allows them to take either an online or physical exam. For groups of at least five people, a classroom exam can also be considered.

The ISTQB® Foundation certificate is a prerequisite for obtaining the “ISTQB® Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer ” certificate. You can take the exam but this certificate will only be awarded after successfully the ISTQB Foundation exam.
