The article written by Marc van ’t Veer “What is testing in production and why should it be performed?” will be published in the journal Testing Experience.

A project case study outlines why the tests within the existing OTAP model for modern public online applications such as an API do not suffice. Test environments are not representative of these applications and Testing in Production (TiP) is a solution for this. This article explains why TiP is not only necessary, but also a normal test type. A definition of TiP is given and questions are asked for further research.
